When my carrier offered the Blackberry Bold Deals in their latest promotion I already new which one for me. I’m a video freak and picture brightness and clarity mean everything to me especially in a portable device. At home I had a wide screen HD screen and needed to get as close to that in a mobile. With the high-resolution 480×360 pixel color display there was no comparison to the half VGA style of my current phone. The Blackberry Bold 9700 has a light sensitive screen which made daytime outdoor viewing a pleasure instead of a positioning nightmare. That feature alone could be a major selling point if you look at your phone as much as talk on it.

The trackpad feature has it all over the old style scroll mouse or trackball and it made it so easy to switch between apps. I can easily and without conscious effort switch between watching a video and reading and answering a text message. It switches so fast you can literally watch and type at the same time.

Being a video hog, the extended battery life was ultra important. Not only can you watch more video and for longer time periods, but after you view a video or two you still have enough talk time left to call up a friend and tell them all about the video. Nice touch!
